About NJ Community Shadowcasting: A NJ Nonprofit Corporation
NJ Community Shadowcasting: A NJ Nonprofit Corporation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving and promoting the art of shadowcasting in New Jersey. We produce live performances that combine acting, multimedia, and shadow play to recreate classic films and theatrical productions, offering audiences an immersive and interactive experience.
Our flagship production, The Cosmic Light Cabaret, is New Jersey's longest-running Rocky Horror Picture Show shadowcast. Established in 1998 and formerly known as The Home of Happiness, we perform monthly shows at Chatham Hickory Cinemas, bringing the cult classic to life with enthusiasm and flair.
In addition to performances, we are committed to education and preservation. We offer opportunities to learn the art of shadowcasting, acting, and other areas of the performing arts, fostering artistic expression and cultural appreciation within the community. Our preservation efforts include archiving performances and mentoring emerging artists to ensure the longevity of this unique storytelling form.
As a volunteer-driven organization, we rely on the passion and dedication of our community members. Their involvement is crucial to the success of our performances, educational programs, and preservation initiatives.
NJ Community Shadowcasting is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in New Jersey. Donations are tax-deductible as allowed by law and directly support our mission to entertain, educate, and preserve the art of shadowcasting for future generations.
